How to care for your smooth nappa leather boots: Step by step

Maintain your smooth nappa leather boots with our maintenance kits. Maintaining your boots will make sure they won't crack, stay supple and clean.

In this guide, we will be using the 1909 basic leather care set, which includes:

• 1909 leather lotion
• COLLONIL Shampoo Direct
• COLLONIL cloth

Step 1: Clean your boots

Clean your boots using the COLLONIL shampoo direct. Press the Shampoo Direct sponge to create foam, then work in light circular motions over the leather. When you have cleaned the entire surface area, wipe it down with the COLLONIL cloth. 

Always patch-test on a hidden spot and check colourfastness first.

Step 2: Apply the leather lotion

After you have cleaned your boots, u can apply the lotion. This lotion provides care for smooth leather. It contains valuable, caring oils and nourishing ingredients. It also adds a tiny protection layer so your boots will stay clean for longer. Use the leather lotion in small amounts and apply in a circular motion. 

Step 3: final touches, enjoy your maintained boots! + optionals

Finally, wipe down your boots and polish them where needed. If you want to add some extra protection, you can use the 1909 Supreme Protect spray. This spray will add a better protection layer so your boots will stay cleaner, longer. Other extra maintenance options would be to change the heel tips of your boots.
