Replacing heel tips is a simple and effective way to extend the life of your shoes. Whether you're looking for that satisfying click with our metal heel tips (available in our store), or simply replacing worn-out or damaged tips, this guide will walk you through the process. With just a few tools, you can restore your shoes and enjoy a fresh new sound or functionality!
What you'll need:
- Replacement heel tips (available in our webshop)
- Pliers
- A small hammer (or something that you can use as a hammer)
- Glue/superglue (recommended)
Step 1: Remove the old heel tips
Use pliers to remove the old heel tips. Make sure that u apply gentle but firm pressure to the pliers, you don't want to scratch or damage the heels as this can leave permanent marks. Twist and pull the heel tip carefully to loosen it, making it easier to remove
Step 2: Align the new heel tip
Grab your replacement heel tip (available in our webshop) and apply a small amount of super glue (optional but recommended). The glue will help secure the heel tip and add extra stability. After applying the glue (as shown in the picture), quickly push the new heel tip firmly into the heel post. Make sure you do this quickly enough before the glue sets. If necessary, gently tap the heel tip with a hammer to fully secure it, but be careful not to damage the heel.
Step 3: Test and enjoy!
Allow the glue to fully dry before using your heels. Once dried, ensure the heel tips are securely in place and stable. If needed, make any final adjustments— the glue may still be flexible enough for minor tweaks. Once everything feels secure, enjoy your refreshed heels!
